John William Lash – mAY 3, 1946 – mArch 20, 2014.

John was my Brother-in-law, he was such a family man. He loved his children so much. He loved taking his daughter Becky shopping, something that reflected the special bond they shared. He was so proud of his son Jason’s athletic achievements.

I remember him as a gentle, pleasant man who was always willing to help you. His neighbours would agree with me.

He is sorely missed by his family and everyone who knew him.

Bill was a life-long resident of Haileybury. His athletic life was long and varied; he excelled at every sport he attempted. In particular he represented Northern Ontario in three Canadian Curling Championships. It would be remiss to not note how involved he was in many and varied community organizations.

In his later years, he developed a strong passion for singing and participated in two Senior Jubilees at Roy Thomson Hall.

I knew Betty when she was a teenager and I was around 4. I remember sitting at a child’s table with her and drinking hot chocolate she made for me. I thought she was the most wonderful person.
