MEET JOHN AND ANNE BROWN AND their twelve children

Trace the roots of the Brown family back to the 1800s. View rare photographs of John D. and Ann Brown and their twelve children, the ancestors of Pearl Grozelle.

John was born in 1815 in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. He met and married Ann Brownlee on the 21 of October, 1839. Ann was born in 1820, also in Fermanagh County.

Soon after their marriage they boarded a ship and sailed to Canada. In Canada they settled in Shawville Pontiac County. John and Ann produced 12 children, which would have been a big help in tending their farm, as John became a farmer when he arrived in Quebec. He died in 1872 in Shawville. Ann also died in Shawville in 1898.
