Joanne Poisson is a performer, composer, and teacher with over twenty years of experience. She has a gift and love for teaching and has been passing on her passion for music, whether it be musical theater, pop, rock, jazz, or classical, with students of all ages, in the community of Wawa. Joanne grew up in a musical family and started piano lessons at the age of 8 years old and went on to receive her teachers certificate with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Joanne taught herself to play, the violin, guitar, ukulele and voice, by herself.
Joanne’s goals go beyond teaching piano. She would like to teach students, to become, problem solvers and independent learners. The joy in her teaching is seeing students’ ideas develop and being there to guide them each step of the way.
Alongside teaching, Joanne pursues her passion in composition with the goal of hosting her own venues for performances.
